What is it?
The radiofrequency wire is an elegant surgical procedure during which we remove the undesired skin lesion with the help of a hot wire. The wire heats the tissue and vaporizes it without causing any damage to the surrounding structures. At the treated site, a slightly pink or lighter mark is visible. It disappears in the following weeks.
The procedure is not painful and bigger areas are always anaesthetized with a local anaesthetic.
Some excised preparations are sent for patohistological analysis. During histological examination a pathologist determines the final diagnosis of the skin lesion by analysing it under a microscope. You are informed about the results via mail or by a telephone call.
Important!
For those patients, who are taking anticoagulant and antiplatelet medication, there is no need to adjust your medication regime prior to this treatment.
First appointment
Upon arrival, each patient first undergoes a clinical and dermoscope examination of the skin or vascular lesion, according to which the proper procedure is chosen.
