How does it work?
The laser light is selectively absorbed by haemoglobin, the pigment found in blood. The absorbed energy is converted into heat, causing controlled heating and coagulation of the blood vessel, without significantly affecting the surrounding tissue.
Smaller superficial capillaries may disappear immediately after treatment, while others gradually become less visible as the treated vessels are naturally broken down and cleared by the body. The response to treatment depends primarily on the size, depth and type of vascular lesion.
About the procedure
For optimal results, we usually recommend 2–4 treatments. The number and frequency of treatments are tailored to the extent and characteristics of the capillaries and the skin's response to treatment.
A single treatment takes approximately 15–30 minutes, depending on the size of the area and the number of capillaries being treated.
Immediately after treatment, redness and mild swelling may occur and usually subside gradually. With some vascular lesions, the treated area may also temporarily appear slightly darker.
You can generally return to your normal activities immediately after the procedure. Consistent sun protection with a high SPF (SPF 50) is important, as is following the recommended post-treatment skincare instructions.
Laser treatment of facial capillaries is not performed during the summer months or during periods of intense sun exposure.

First appointment
Upon arrival, each patient first undergoes a clinical and dermoscope examination of the skin or vascular lesion, according to which the proper procedure is chosen.
Extensive experience
We have been using Fotona laser systems in our clinic since 2006, giving us extensive experience in the laser treatment of various vascular lesions.
For the treatment of capillaries and other vascular lesions, we use the Fotona Dynamis® Nd:YAG laser, which enables precise and targeted treatment of blood vessels. Treatment parameters are always tailored to the type, depth and size of the vascular lesion.
