What is it?

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is a regenerative treatment that uses components derived from the patient's own blood to improve the quality and appearance of the skin.

Platelets contain numerous growth factors and other biologically active substances involved in tissue repair and regeneration. When concentrated platelet-rich plasma is injected into the skin, it stimulates natural regenerative processes and supports the production of collagen and elastin.

The skin gradually renews itself from within. Rather than creating a sudden change in appearance, PRP helps achieve fresher, firmer and healthier-looking skin.

PRP is particularly suitable for patients who want natural biostimulation without adding artificial volume.

What can PRP improve?

PRP is commonly used to:

  • improve skin quality and texture,
  • stimulate collagen production,
  • improve firmness and elasticity,
  • soften fine lines and early signs of ageing,
  • revitalise tired and dull-looking skin,
  • regenerate the skin of the face, neck, décolletage and hands.

PRP is also used for scalp treatments and hair loss concerns, where the aim is to stimulate hair follicle activity and improve the conditions for hair growth.

How does a PRP treatment work?

The procedure begins by taking a small amount of blood, much like a standard laboratory blood draw.

The blood is then processed in a centrifuge to separate its components and obtain plasma with a higher concentration of platelets.

The prepared PRP is then injected into selected areas of the skin using a very fine needle.

The entire procedure takes approximately 30 minutes. For greater comfort, a topical anaesthetic cream may be applied before treatment, and cooling can also be used during the procedure.

What can you expect after PRP?

Because the treatment uses a preparation obtained from your own blood, the risk of an allergic reaction to the injected PRP is very low.

Following the procedure, you may experience:

  • mild redness,
  • tenderness or slight swelling,
  • small bruises at the injection sites.

These effects are usually temporary.

Most patients can quickly return to their normal daily activities. On the first day, we recommend gentle skincare, avoiding strenuous exercise, saunas and other sources of intense heat, as well as consistent sun protection.

When will you see the results of PRP?

PRP does not work like a dermal filler, so it does not provide an immediate increase in volume. Its effects develop gradually as the regenerative processes within the skin take place.

The first improvements in skin freshness and quality may become noticeable over the following weeks, with further improvement continuing over the next few months.

The number of treatments is determined individually according to the condition of the skin, the treatment area and the desired results. We often recommend a series of treatments, followed by maintenance sessions when appropriate.

PRP – a method with a long history of medical use

Platelet-rich plasma has been used for many years across various fields of medicine, including orthopaedics, sports medicine, surgery and regenerative medicine.

In aesthetic medicine, PRP is primarily valued for the ability of platelets to release growth factors that support the body's natural tissue regeneration processes.

Can PRP be combined with SkinPen®?

Yes. PRP can be combined with SkinPen® medical microneedling, as the two treatments complement each other effectively.

SkinPen® creates controlled microchannels in the skin, stimulating its natural renewal process and the production of new collagen, while PRP, with growth factors derived from your own blood, provides additional support for the regenerative processes.

This combination is particularly suitable when we want to achieve a more intensive improvement in skin texture and quality, firmness, fine lines and the appearance of acne scars.

SkinPen® stimulates the skin's natural renewal process, while PRP provides additional support for this regeneration.
