What is it?
Xanthelasma are benign and common skin lesions. They are formed from fat, which deposits in the skin, preferably around the eyes. The reason for this fat deposition process isn’t completely understood and the presence of xanthelasma doesn’t necessarily indicate high levels of cholesterol in the blood.
Xanthelasmas are not dangerous, but they are definitely a cosmetic concern to those affected. In the past, the only solution to remove these skin lesion was classical surgery.
With laser ablation which is a non-invasive and safe technique we can completely remove xanthelasma in 1 - 3 visits.
About the procedure
The treatment is done ambulatory and lasts approximately 20 minutes. It’s painless since a local anesthetic is used before starting. After the procedure there is only a small wound that heals very quickly without scarring. You can continue with your every-day activities normally.

As mentioned, the treatment is safe, quick and uninvasive. However it has another advantage. Laser beam enables us extreme precision therefore we can eliminate the skin lesion without harming the surrounding structures.
First appointment
Upon arrival, each patient first undergoes a clinical and dermoscope examination of the skin or vascular lesion, according to which the proper procedure is chosen.
